ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. — Members of several workforce development boards met in Robeson County to promote lifelong learning.
The meeting was part of the second annual gateway workforce region literacy summit. Organizers said this year's goal is to help people eliminate the word not from their vocabularies. They said many people think they are not smart or young enough to go back to school and advance their careers, but that is untrue.
The regional partnership is also planning to launch a lifelong learning and literacy campaign in September to coincide with National Literacy Month.
