RALEIGH — People could be seeing more foreclosure signs throughout the year.

Experts say banks were waiting until the recent mortgage settlement was passed before moving forward with any more foreclosures. The settlement only helps some homeowners at risk of foreclosure, those not covered in the agreement could lose their homes soon.

Currently, there are more than 3 million homeowners in foreclosure or considered seriously behind on their mortgage.
