ONBOARD CARVINAL LIBERTY -- The Carnival Liberty is the first of the fleet to roll out some new enhancements, including cheeseburgers!

"The burgers they’re going to get, to me, I’m still surprised that Carnival is not charging," said Guy Fieri, the owner of Guy's Burger Joint. "I mean it’s that kind of a burger. It’s a real deal, straight up, legit, burger house type burger."

With the introduction of Guy's Burger Joint, Celeb Chef Guy Fieri is one of the brand names to be added onboard 14 of 24 Carnival ships. It's phase one of a fleetwide upgrade called Funship 2.0, to be completed by 2015. The $500 million dollar investment will also bring onboard several new dining, drinking and entertainment options.

Besides free burgers, passengers will be able to enjoy complimentary homemade poolside tacos at Blue Iguana Cantina.

"But knowing that Carnival has an automated tortilla maker, I can’t tell you how thrilled, because my grandmother would get tired," said comedian George Lopez.

The jokes are on Comedian George Lopez who is earning the title of "Curator of Comedy" in the Punchliner comedy clubs.

"To do what I love is to make people laugh to bring people to Carnival cruise lines who are some of my favorite people to make passengers on the cruise line laugh," said Lopez.

Guests can wash down those burritos and burgers with cocktails at the Blue Iguana Tequila Bar or the Red Frog Rum Bar. For less of a party atmosphere, head for the indoor Alchemy Bar where designer elixirs are mixed.

Other entertainment options include partnerships with EA Sports Bars and Hasbro in the hopes of staying competitive in a growing industry.
