RALEIGH -- A man is in critical condition after a fire in Raleigh. It broke out Sunday night at a home on Kincaid Drive in Raleigh.
Officials say two people, including a Raleigh police officer, went into the house to try to rescue the homeowner identified as Oscar Watkins, but they were unable to get past the flames.
Watkins was pulled from the house by fire crews and airlifted to the UNC Burn Center. The two people that first went in after him were treated for smoke inhalation and released.
Firefighters say there were no smoke detectors in the house. There's no word yet on a cause.
